My daughter refers to me as the "Martha Stewart" of Florida. I am a retired artist and fashion designer. I am also a member of the National League of American Penwomen, and I just love to still use my creativity.
I have been sewing and knitting since I practically left the womb and at the age of 73 have not stopped. As a younger woman, I studied at Parsons School of Design in New York City and continued to make all mine and my three children's clothing until they became old enough to rebel!
Just recently, when my daughter asked for me to custom make her a vintage-style apron, I recalled wearing these styles 'way back when'. Apparently, aprons are 'hot' again and a new fashion trend (go figure). I thought you might like some of my designs which add a little modern twist to them - so here we are.
For me, Aprons are a lovely tradition, born out of practicality, but can be expressive and reflective of our own unique personalities.
